I read this book from cover to cover in the space of an afternoon. The true stories were engaging and poignant and the reflections provided by the authors on each situation are an invaluable resource to anyone working in healthcare.

I would also strongly recommend this book to anyone with a parent or family member living in a nursing home (particularly in Australia). It gives you an insight into the day to day running of a nursing home, the dilemmas faced by staff and the quality of care which should be provided. The book includes descriptions of times when a high quality of care was provided, and also times when a situation could have been handled better. This book is also a good introduction to some of the key principles of palliative care.
